Lightsworn vs. Infernity
Round 2 features Augustas against Donatas. The latter runs his own version of Lightsworn, while Augustas runs Infernity! Augis rolled a one, Donce a three, and he began the duel.
Donce summoned Card Trooper, milling two Light and Darkness Dragons and Honest! He passed with a backfield. Augis drew, set two s/ts and passed. Donce drew Charge of the Light Brigade and activated Heavy Storm! Dust Tornado and Book of Moon were destroyed. Then Donce milled Ryko, Solar Recharge and Cyber Dragon with his Trooper. Finally, he activated his Charge, milling Frog and Wulf! He searched for Lumina and activated Pot of Avarice! Honest, both Dragons, Cyber Dragon and Ryko went back to the deck. Avarice brought him Caius and Light and Darkness Dragon! He thought a moment before summoning Light and Darkness, but finally opted to attack with Trooper and Wulf instead. However, in main phase 2, he went for Light and Darkness Dragon! Auris drew, played a backfield, thought before setting another one and finally passed. Donce drew Soul Exchange and his Dragon pressed for damage. Augis activated Compulsory to weaken it and Donce passed to Augis, who activated Heavy Storm and set a monster and a backrow before passing. Donce drew Solar Recharge – Wulf and Caius were in his hand, along with Chaos Sorcerer. The option seemed tempting and he summoned Treeborn Frog, minimizing Light and Darkness Dragon! Next, he activated Solar Recharge, drew two Cyber Dragons and milled Caius and Ryko. Afterwards, he sacrificed Treeborn Frog for Caius, removing Augis’ monster. Infernity Mirage was removed and Caius struck for game – the set Dark Bribe and Call of the Haunted were of no use!
Donce side-decked an impressive pile of eleven cards to his main deck! Among them were a pair of Consecrated Light – a strong pick against Infernities. Meanwhile, Augis side-decked six cards and started pile shuffling. Donce opened with Bottomless, Wulf, Pot of Avarice, Light and Darkness and Crevive into the Different Dimension. Augis set a backfield, then another one, summoned Infernity Archfiend and passed. Donce drew D.D. Crow, set two backfields and passed. Augis summoned Banisher of the Radiance! Bottomless Trap Hole tried to remove it, but Augis chained Dark Bribe! Augis set another backfield and swung for 3400 with Archfiend and Banisher. Donce drew Wulf during his turn, set another backfield and passed. Augis set another backfield, set a monster, set his last card to the backrow and struck for 3400 damage again. Donce drew Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress – seemed useless at the moment. Donce gave a lot of thought and summoned D.D. Crow! He responded with Torrential Tribute, but Infernity Barrier sealed the duel! Donce’s hand was clogged with tribute monsters and side-deck cards, so he opted to side-deck once more – he sided out his Consecrated Lights as well.
Both players had a small chat and Donce opted to begin the third duel, drawing Lumina, Pot of Avarice, Gorz, Cyber Dragon, Foolish and Ryko. He set Ryko and passed. Augis summoned Banisher of the Radiance again, poked Ryko and My Body As a Shield negated Ryko! Augis set three s/ts before passing. Donce drew Card Trooper, summoned Cyber Dragon, Augis had no response. Then Donce thought for a moment before attacking into Book of Moon! Donce passed and Augis set another backfield – he had only one card left in his hand, poked the Cyber Dragon for no good reason and passed. Donce drew Lightning Vortex, turned the Dragon to attack and gave a moment before attacking. Augis responded with Compulsory Evacuation Device, delaying the destruction! Donce then activated Lightning Vortex, discarding Pot, but Dark Bribe saved Banisher! Donce drew Brain Control though and passed. Augis drew to two and, after a while, set two s/ts before attacking into Gorz! Augis passed and Donce attacked with Gorz, but Augis had no response! The token went through and Donce passed with a monster. Augis drew and summoned Infernity Mirage, responding with his own Torrential Tribute. Donce drew another Cyber Dragon, holding a total of seven cards! He activated Foolish Burial, fetched Wulf, but Augis flipped Solemn Judgment, leaving him with 1900 life points! Finally, Lumina faced the table and a revived Wulf finished the duel!
A long control with Banisher seemed meaningless as Donce successfully tore through Augis’ defences!
