Kaunas Locals - Round 3

Blackwing Mirror Match
Round 3 pits two Blackwing players against each other! Egis won the card pick (don’t ask) and begun the duel with Kalut, Mistral, Dark Eruption, Mirror Force, Book of Moon and Cyber Dragon! He set Mistral and Book of Moon before passing. However, Balys simply passed on his turn! Egis drew Pot of Avarice, summoned Kalut and poked successfully! Balys drew and finally activated Black Whirlwind, He tried to summon his own Kalut, but Book of Moon turned it. He set three s/ts before passing. Egis drew Mind Control, flipped Mistral and activated Mind Control to take Kalut, but Balys chained Icarus Attack to destroy Egis’ Blackwings. He set a Mirror Force before passing. Balys drew Shura! He searched for Bora the Spear and struck directly with Shura. Egis drew Charge of the Light Brigade, summoned Cyber Dragon, kicked Shura successfully and activated Charge of the Light Brigade. He milled Shura, Blizzard and Bottomless before searching Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter. He set a monster before passing. Balys discarded D.D. Crow during his turn to remove Blizzard the Far North and fill up the graveyard to special summon Dark Armed Dragon! He removed Kalut to destroy Ryko, Crow for Mirror Force and Cyber Dragon was destroyed by battle. Finally, he passed with a monster and one card in hand. Egis drew another Ryko! He activated Pot of Avarice, leaving no monsters behind. He drew Blizzard and Brain Control – a tad useless right now. He summoned Blizzard and attacked Balys’ face-down Ryko! Egis set a backfield before passing. Balys popped Egis’ Dark Eruption, summoned Bora the Spear, searched for Kalut and Egis immedeatly conceded!

Both players didn’t side-deck and Egis begun with two Boras, Mistral, Book of Moon, Ryko and Forbidden Chalice! He set Ryko and Book before passing. Balys set two backrows and a monster. Egis drew Cyber Dragon, flipped Ryko to pop Icarus Attack and milled Dark Armed Dragon, Black Whirlwind and Shura! Clearly it isn’t his day. Later he summoned Mistral the Silver Shield, special summoned Bora and synchro summoned Stardust Dragon! Torrential Tributed was negated and Egis summoned his Cyber Dragon. He struck down Ryko, but Balys couldn’t destroy a card as Egis activated The Forbidden Chalice! Balys remarked that it is broken and Egis passed to Balys with Stardust, Cyber Dragon, a backfield and a card in hand. Balys drew to four and passed. Egis drew Ryko, Cyber Dragon attacked into Gorz, Stardust took down the token and he passed with Ryko face-down. Balys drew, Gorz ran into Book of Moon and he opted to pass with two backrow cards. Egis drew Blizzard the Far North, flipped Ryko to destroy Royal Oppression and milled Trap Stun, Gale and Shura! Blizzard revived Shura to synchro summon Goyo Guardian. Goyo stole Gorz, Cyber Dragon and Stardust struck directly to leave Balys with 1100. Egis passed and Balys activated Black Whirlwind to summon Sirocco, searching Gale the Whirlwind. Gale shrunk Goyo, Sirocco activated its effect and Stardust Dragon was destroyed by battle. Egis drew Torrential Tribute, Goyo attacked Gale, but Kalut destroyed it! Cyber Dragon poked Sirocco, but Balys responded with Icarus Attack to destroy Cyber and Gorz. Egis simply passed with his freshly drawn Torrential. Balys drew Blizzard the Far North! He revived Kalut, but Torrential Tribute destroyed everything! Balys searched Mistral with Whirlwind and passed. Egis drew Pot of Avarice along with his Bora and immediately activated it. He started returning monsters to the deck, but noted that his Bora is enough to finish the duel!

Balys started the third duel Whirlwind, summoned Kalut, searching for Blizzard the Far North, and passed with a backfield. Egis opened with Icarus Attack, Brain Control, Shura, Blizzard, Cyber Dragon and Kalut. He summoned Shura, destroyed Kalut and summoned Mistra. Icarus Attack to the backrow ended his turn. Balys summoned Sirocco, but Icarus Attack destroyed Balys’ Sirocco and Icarus Attack, which Balys chained to destroy Shura! He set a backrow before passing. Egis summoned Blizzard the Far North, but Royal Oppression stopped the summon! He ended with a bluff Brain Control. Balys summoned Blizzard, didn’t activate the effect and passed with a backfield. Egis drew a second Cyber Dragon and summoned it, but Royal Oppression stopped it. Next he summoned Kalut, but its attack was Mirror Forced. Balys drew to three, attacked directly again, set a monster and s/t before passing back to Egis, who drew Pot of Avarice. He started his turn with Brain Control, but Book of Moon turned Kalut face-down. Next he activated Pot of Avarice, drawing Mirror Force and Book of Moon. He summoned Kalut, destroyed Blizzard and set a pair of s/ts. Balys summoned Bora, but Book of Moon stopped the search. Egis destroyed Bora during his turn and Balys passed. Egis drew Icarus Attack and rammed into Mistral before passing. Balys set a backfield and passed. Egis drew Heavy Storm! He passed, though, and Balys set a backfield before passing. Egis activated Icarus Attack during the end phase, but Balys tried to activate Starlight Road! Unfortunately, Royal Oppression stopped it. Egis drew Book of Moon and finally activated Heavy Storm. He finished with Cyber Dragon to end his turn.

Balys summoned Blizzard, revived Bora, but Book of Moon turned Blizzard down. Egis drew Bottomless, destroyed Blizzard and Balys turned Bora to attack position and passed before a monster and a backrow. Egis drew Cyber Dragon, attacked Ryko, which destroyed Bottomless. Egis passed witch Icarus Attack. Balys set a backfield and passed. Egis drew Trap Stun and Cyber Dragon successfully destroyed Bora. He set Trap Stun before passing. Balys flipped Black Whirlwind! He summoned Sirocco, searched Shura and passed. Egis drew Blizzard the Far North! He revived Kalut, summoned Blackwing Armor Master. Balys tried to Bottomless Armor Master, but Trap Stun negated the remove! Sirocco was successfully destroyed and Egis passed. Balys drew to three, activated Allure of Darkness and removed Kalut. Next he summoned Shura, but Icarus Attack destroyed Shura and Black Whirlwind. Balys passed and Egis finally drew his Black Whirlwind. The duel stood at 3400 and 5100, with Balys in the lead. He set Whirlwind before passing. Balys set a monster. Egis drew Shura and Armor Master destroyed Balys’ Shura. He passed and Balys set a backrow and a monster before passing. Armor Master successfully destroyed Bora and both players passed. Egis poked directly and passed with Forbidden Chalice. Balys drew to two, set a monster, a backrow and passed. Egis’ Armor Master took down another Bora. During Main Phase 2 he activated Charge of the Light Brigade, milled nothing special and searched Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter. He set it before passing back to Balys, who set another monster. Egis drew another Black Whirlwind, activated Mind Control, took Ryko and Armor Master struck directly. It wasn’t enough, but Egis flipped The Forbidden Chalice to end the duel and the match!
